The Beginning

I have decided to start blogging (finally!) to document our life, in particular our little Gracie's life!  She is our 6 month old daughter who is growing like a weed and I figured I would start a blog so I can have a online "scrapbook" per se.  Basically, I will tell the story of our life and you never know, may talk about other things too!

About "us":

Dave and I met through mutual friends about 11 years ago.  Interesting fact, Dave was 32 and I was 20!  The fact that we ended up together is amazing in itself!  haha!  We dated for 6 years before I finally got a ring (all you girls who complain about waiting 2 years can kiss it!  lol).  It was was for the best that we waited for sure though!!  We got married in May 2010 on the beach in Destin, FL.  I must say, the most amazing wedding ever (I'm not biased or anything though!)!  But seriously (I will put blog on my wedding later) it was amazing.  Everything Dave and I dreamed of plus more.  I always hear girls say they would love to have their day over again....I don't want to have my wedding day over because (well the stress may play a factor) it went SO perfect that if we had it over there is no way it would have gone as good as it did the first time!

We decided from the beginning that we wanted children but instead of pinpointing a NUMBER of children we will have, we decided to start with one child and go from there.  We also decided that we wanted to wait until we have been married for at least a year before trying to get pregnant, we wanted to see what married life was all about without the children and that chaos!

Well, needless to say, we got pregnant in October 2011!  It was one of the most surreal moments in my life when I saw the positive on the pregnancy test....I really couldn't believe it.  I really don't know why I was so shocked...I mean, we were trying and all!  I guess I just didn't expect it to happen so easily.  That is something I am VERY grateful for.  I have several close friends, a best friend and even my sister who have had a very difficult time getting pregnant (my sister did end up getting pregnant shortly after me and had her baby this past November).  So, I guess after hearing so many of their stories about how difficult it is to get pregnant I certainly thought it would take more than it did.  I will get into my pregnancy in a later blog.  Needless to say, I'm more than grateful that it happened so easily for us.

Gracie (Graciana Sophia) was born on July 4th!!!  Yes, the 4th of July!  She was due the 8th but decided to make an early appearance!  Again, I will get to this in another blog later since that can all be a story in itself (just like any child birth experience).

I was working until the end of June as a Mortgage Consultant for State Farm who I had worked for over 6 years.  Dave and I made the decision for me to stay home with Gracie and quit work.  Dave has a job that requires travel and my job in the mortgage industry was very stressful and required a lot of hours if we were busy (which was ALL the time!).  We decided it would be best for Gracie to have me stay home with her.  I must say (granted I'm only 6 months into it) it is a LOT of work but the best and most rewarding job ever.

So, here I am, stay at home mom/wife with a 6 month old baby girl.  I will get into details of our life (probably nothing TOO personal) and will go into details on other things.  I love to play with little Gracie (go figure!), the beach, cook, working out, getting healthy, makeup and many other things that I will talk about in my blog!  I am looking forward to this adventure!!
